Ordering a custom canoe
I'll make you any size and shape you would like. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
and let me know.
If you're not sure what size you need, spread your arms apart at the
shoulder, bend your arms at the elbows and get someone to measure from
elbow to elbow. That's about right for the grip length.
If you've got a favourite blade you want copied, trace it out on paper
and I'll do it for you.
The six blades you see here are $65 each plus shipping.
They are cedar or pine with an un-sanded varnish finish. This makes
them waterproof and leaves a slightly rough surface that you will wear
down with your own use of the blade but still give you a good grip in
wet conditions (like when you're using them in a canoe on water).
If you want to do a bit of work on your paddle, and you should, I will
finish them with several coats of tung oil which is soft, flexible and
easily reapplied when needed.
Both the cedar and pine are 600 to 680 g
