These are shiro kashi (white oak) kama, traditional shape and construction. This model measures 13 and 1/4 inches (34cm) long and the shaft has a butt diameter of 1 1/4 inch (3cm) tapering to 1 inch (2.5cm) at the top. The blade is 6 inches (15cm) long and is 1 3/8 inches (3.5cm) wide at the shaft. The blade is just less than 1/2 inch thick (1cm). They weigh just under 1/2 a pound each (250g). Eku Kai, ieku, eiku, ueku, kue, and kuwa are some of the other names I've seen for this one. These are made here in Canada by myself out of hickory or North American white oak. They are 66 inches (168cm) with a 27 inch (69cm) blade. They weigh about 3 pounds (1.4kg). They can also be purchased in 60" and 54" size, with proportionately sized blades. Laminated custom designs We have made many unique designs using a variety of exotic and domestic woods glued up and then turned. You will not find someone else in the dojo using the same tonfa as you are if you specify one of these sets. The round sets start at US$180, and the square sets start at US$130.
KAMA
Around the outside are a couple of custom kama that are definitely not stock, in the middle are some normal sized wooden kama. They are 15 inch shafts with 5 inch blades (from shaft to tip). The custom kama are there to remind you that we can make any size and shape you might want.
